ACI Foundation Fellowships and Scholarships Program

ACI Foundation offers several fellowships and scholarships to high potential students in concrete-related graduate and undergraduate degree programs. Applicants for fellowships as well as scholarships must graduate and undergraduate students ready to take up these fellowships for the 2022-2023 academic year. Applicants for Fellowships must be currently pursuing a concrete-related degree or program at an American or Canadian University or institution of higher education, or in an eligible country for the ACI Foundation Middle East & North Africa Fellowship. Scholarships are open to international students as well.

These scholarships and fellowships are categorised into two (2)

  • ACI Foundation fellowships for Students at American or Canadian Universities or Selected Middle East & North Africa countries for the Middle East & North Africa Fellowships
  • The ACI Foundation scholarships for all students including international Students

The main aim of this program is to identify and attract talented and outstanding professionals, build their ability and skills for future careers in the concrete industry. ACI Foundation offers up to 32 fellowships and scholarships after adding Four new fellowships and two new scholarships. The new awards include the following:

  • Burg-Coleman Iowa State ‘77 ACI Fellowship
  • Nicholas F. Maloof, Jr. ACI Georgia Chapter Fellowship
  • Robert F. Mast Memorial Fellowship
  • S. P. Shah Fellowship
  • Master Builders Solutions Concrete Materials Scholarship
  • Nick Bada – ACI Ontario Chapter Graduate Scholarship

ACI Foundation Fellowships provide the following benefits

  • You will receive an educational stipend worth $10,000 or $15,000 USD.
  • The educational stipend will be paid directly to you to cover expenses related to tuition, room and board, books, student fees
  • The foundation will pay for your Airfare, hotel, travel stipend, and registration to attend two ACI Concrete Conventions
  • You will receive mentorship from an assigned mentor.
  • Fellows and scholarship holders will be eligible for internship, if required
  • You will also receive Recognition at ACI Concrete Conventions, in Concrete International, and on ACI Foundation’s website and social media.

ACI Foundation Scholarships offer the following benefits.

  • You will be eligible for an educational stipend worth $5000 USD
  • The educational stipend will be paid directly to you to cover expenses related to tuition, room and board, books, student fees
  • Scholarship holders will also receive recognition in Concrete International and on the ACI Foundation’s website and social media.

ACI Foundation fellowships

  • You must be graduate and undergraduate students in a concrete-related degree or program
  • Applicants must be currently studying at an American or Canadian institution of higher education
  • To apply for the ACI Foundation Middle East & North Africa Fellowship, you must be a student at an Intuition at a participating Middle East & North Africa country
  • All applicants must demonstrate sufficient proficiency in the English language in form of a written statement attesting your proficiency or a copy of the TOEFL results.

ACI Foundation Scholarships

  • The ACI Foundation scholarships awarded to international students regardless of their area or region of study.
  • If applying for the graduate scholarship, you must be a full-time student pursuing a master’s or PhD program. You must not have exceeded your second year of a master’s program or fourth year of a PhD program.
  • Those applying for the undergraduate scholarship, must be a full-time undergraduate at the time of applying for and during the entire award cycle

Applications for both the fellowships and scholarship are submitted online using the appropriate application form. You application must be submitted by the deadline of November 2, 2021. Selected applicants will attend a Mandatory internships during the summer of 2022 and the full award cycle covers the 2022 fall semester through the 2023 spring semester

To accompany your application, submit the following information

  • You must complete your contact and educational information in the application form.
  • Submit a A resume in Microsoft Word pdf format
  • You will be required to write and submit a 500-word essay.
  • Submit Official academic transcripts and diplomas
  • You must submit proof of English language proficiency with a 4.0 grading scale
  • Request and submit two (2) endorsements with one being from an ACI member
