European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe

Apply for the European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe (GC SEE / ERMA). The Global Campus South East Europe – European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe (GC SEE / ERMA) is a one year, full time, interdisciplinary programme, lasting from November until October. Its aim is the development of democracy and human rights in South East Europe. It is a joint initiative by the University of Sarajevo, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (CIS) and the University of Bologna, Department of Political and Social Sciences.

GC SEE/ERMA is co-financed by the European Union through the Global Campus of Human Rights and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, via the Italian Development and Cooperation Agency (AICS), with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Programme awards students with 60 ECTS and a double-degree diploma of both founding universities (UNSA and UNIBO).

  • Become members of the ERMA Alumni Network and the Global Campus Alumni Association


  • Target group I (25 places): Citizens of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and citizens of Kosovo (holders of passports of countries recognized by BiH)

  • Target group II (5 places): Citizens of the European Union countries, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and the Russian Federation

  • Target group III (6 places): Citizens of other countries

Applicants with English as their mother tongue and those who had previous university education in English language will provide competency through their transcripts or certificates issued by the respective universities only.

Others have to provide evidence of their English language proficiency. The Master Programme recognizes the following international English Language certificates:

  1. TOEFL – minimum score of 560 paper-based, 220 computer based, IBT not less than 83;

  2. British Council’s IELTS – minimum band 6.5 and no less than 6.0 in any of its subsections;

  3. CAE and CPE Cambridge exams.
