Apply for the Government of the Czech Republic scholarships for the academic year 2020/2021. The Government of the Czech Republic awards scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance in support of the study to international students from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic wishing to undertake their studies in Czech Republic.

These scholarships are offered to citizens from selecteddeveloping countries for studies at Czech public higher education institutions as an important part of the foreign development cooperation of the Czech Republic and has a long tradition.

The scholarships are dedicated solely to promoting the studies of foreign nationals from developing third countries therefore, ineligible personnel (citizens of the Czech Republic, citizens of the European Union, any other foreign national with a permanent residence permit in the territory of the Czech Republic) are discouraged from applying

Successful applicants will attend a Language and preparatory studies (one-year long, only for those who have applied for a scholarship to study in the Czech language) provided for by the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University

Benefits

For the academic year 2021/2022 conditions for applying for the scholasrhips are specified below

  • Applicants must be citizens fo the following countries:
    1. Bosnia and Herzegovina,
    2. Ethiopia,
    3. Georgia,
    4. Cambodia,
    5. Moldova,
    6. Ukraine,
    7. Zambia.
  • Students may be admitted to a Master’s study programme that follows up on a Bachelor’s study programme only if they have duly completed a Bachelor’s study programme.
  • Students may be admitted to a Doctoral study programme only if they have duly completed a Master’s study programme.
  • A scholarship of the Government of the Czech Republic for studies in the English language may only be granted if the applicant has a good command of English.
  • An applicant for a scholarship of the Government of the Czech Republic is obliged to sit an online entrance English language test in the course of his/her application submission (if he/ she wishes to have his/ her studies in English).

Application

Along with the application, you will have to submit the following documents

Required Documents:

  • Application Form for a Scholarship of the Government of the Czech Republic (“Application Form”) 
  • CV with a focus on studies and employment;
  • Photocopy of his/her passport
  • Declaration about the Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions Governing the Granting of Scholarships of the Government of the Czech Republic (signed by his/her own hand);
  • Declaration about the Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions Governing the Provision of Health Services (signed by his/her own hand);
  • Affirmation on Return to the Sending Country upon Completion of Studies (signed by his/her own hand);
  • Legalised copy of his/her birth certificate with a legalised translation into the Czech language;
  • Medical confirmation about the applicant’s health no more than two months old with a legalised translation into English or into Czech
  • Legalised copy of a foreign diploma, certificate or similar document proving due completion of a the relevant  study programme with a legalised translation into the Czech language by a sworn translator/interpreter entered in the list of experts and interpreters in the Czech Republic;
  • Legalised copy of a Supplement to Diploma or list of completed lectures and examinations including their scope and grades (marks) achieved with a legalised translation into the Czech language

Please note: Applicants for a Doctoral study will have to submit extra documentation related to their research activities and recommendation letters as specified in the application guide
